Chiefs eliminate Rise Nation; to decider

The Australians outlasted the NA favorites on Overpass to survive at the Global Challenge.

Former player and stand-in Joshua "INS" Potter began the Group A elimination match with six kills in the first three rounds. By round five, Rise Nation fought back, and with Andy "vSa" Xu and Will "dazzLe" Loafman leading the way, the North Americans took the lead. After a pause due to player illness, INS and Alistair "aliStair" Johnston help Chiefs to fight back and eventually take an 8-7 lead at the end of the half.

The Australian side took the second pistol round as well, which gave them a solid lead going into the second half. The first gun round went the way of Rise Nation off of a big triple kill by Brandon "Ace" Winn which led to the Canadian/American side running away on their CT side. Jonathan "Jonji" Carey and dazzLe kept their respective sites on lockdown against the Chiefs side, and eventually secured map point. Peter "pecks" Nguyen stepped up big at the end of the game, and brought it to overtime.

The first half of overtime went 2-1 for Rise Nation with solid play by Ace. aliStair picked it up again in overtime, as he powered Chiefs to match point and then the victory 19-17.

Chiefs now move on to face Space Soldiers in the Group A decider match while Rise Nation are eliminated from the ESEA Season 26 Global Challenge.
