Infinite is out of stanislaw's team after eight months

Official: Wildcard part ways with two

Wildcard have started to shuffle the deck post-RMR.

As first reported by Dust2.us, Wildcard have announced the departures of Gage "Infinite" Green and Matt "warden" Dickens from their ranks. The changes in Wildcard's deck have come after the squad failed to make a deep run at the PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR, being eliminated following losses to RED Canids and M80, thus missing out on the first CS2 Major.

Infinite's departure comes after a mixed stint for the lurker as the team's entry fragger, with the team likely looking for a specialist in the role moving forward. As for warden, Dust2.us understands that alongside the previously reported fallout from the RMR "water bottle" incident, the main factor for his exit is budgetary concerns in Wildcard associated with the cost of hosting two coaches.

More broadly, the changes are likely motivated by a desire to continue the team's growth after bursting onto the scene last year. While Wildcard has quickly become one of North America's top squads, it has found itself playing second fiddle to Nouns and M80 in domestic competitions in qualifiers.

Wildcard are now:

  • Canada Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz

  • United States Josh "JBa" Barutt

  • United States Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan

  • Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek

  • Brazil João "horvy" Horvath (Coach)

For the time being, Wildcard are likely set to continue fielding Ian "motm" Hardy in ESL Challenger League Season 47, however they are likely set to hunt for a new fifth ahead of the mid-season roster lock.
