cadiaN and Rogue are through to the playoffs

Rogue comeback against Mythic; advance to playoffs

Rogue looked hapless on Inferno, but gritted out wins on the following two maps to stay alive.

Mythic began Inferno on the Terrorist side, and their economy got off to a roaring start thanks to three round wins in which they only lost a single player in each. In the first true gun round of the game, Rogue were able to get on the board with a FAMAS buy, but were immediately reset in the following round. The pattern of Rogue only being able to pick up isolated rounds would persist over the remainder of the half, which ended 12-3 in Mythic's favor.

Not wanting to waste anytime, Mythic overran Rogue on the second half pistol, and swiftly took the match over the line, 16-3. At the conclusion of the decisive game, both Eric "adreN" Hoag and Erik "fl0m" Flom boasted 20 kills — practically double the lines of anyone on the Rogue side.

Moving onto Mirage, Rogue were able to win the Counter-Terrorist pistol, and take the following round as well. A quadruple kill from Mythic captain Alexander "LeX" Deily got his squad on the board, and they quickly tied the score up at 2-2. Rogue were able to regroup, and got another round thanks to a team ace. From here, Josh "shinobi" Abastado's men ran the score up to 9-2, in what figured to be a strong half for them. However, Mythic were able to put a damper on their parade, winning the closing four rounds of the half — including a critical 1v3 clutch by LeX.

The second pistol got scary for Rogue, as Adam "Polen" Polen nearly secured the round despite being the last man alive for his side against three Rogue members. Luckily for Rogue, Daniel "vice" Kim delivered some knife heroics, and got the half off to the start they needed. The half would proceed in a see-saw fashion, with Mythic eventually forcing Rogue onto a mixed buy trailing 13-8. vice kicked off the proceedings with a P250 kill, and Rogue were able to secure the round. The final two rounds of the map were odd ones, featuring first a bungled defuse attempt by Mythic and then a spectacular but meaningless ace from fl0m, as Rogue took Mirage over the line with a 16-9 score.

On Cache, a map which neither team particularly favors, Mythic nearly swept the pistol round on the CT side. Rogue were able to strike back with some CZ play from Spencer "Hiko" Martin, but from there Mythic streaked up to a 7-3 lead. Mythic would go on to dominate the rest of the half, eventually leading 10-5 at the end.

The second half played out as a near mirror of of the first, with Rogue winning the pistol, and then Mythic retorting early. This time it was Rogue's turn to go on a streak, eventually reclaiming the lead 13-11. With Danish import Casper "cadiaN" Møller's AWP spearheading the offense, Rogue finally were able to claim a sixteenth round, ending their grueling day of play.
