Mythic eliminate F1-racecar-PEEK; to face Rogue in playoff decider
The final best-of-one elimination match of Dust2.us Masters #1 saw Mythic and F1-racecar-PEEK facing off on Cobblestone, with the victor moving on to play against Rogue in a best-of-three series.
F1 got off to a clean start in the match as they secured a flawless pistol round. They moved up to three rounds despite heavy losses against Mythic's force-buy, and were also unable to convert the first gun round. Their earlier losses left them with enough in the bank for one full-buy round, but three MAG-7 frags from Alexander "LeX" Deily shut down the F1 players and broke the T side economy. Mythic quickly moved their way up to four rounds before F1 broke their streak, but Eric "adreN" Hoag began stepping up for his team to immediately reset F1's economy once again.
This was the straw that broke the camel's back in the half as Mythic began rolling over F1, locking the players out of their bombsites round after round. Multi-kills from adreN ensured the half for Mythic, although three entry kills from Daniel "tropiiical" Elshani in the final round almost allowed F1 to snag a fifth for themselves. The two-on-four still went the way of Mythic in the end, bringing the half to a dominant 11-4 scoreline for LeX's squad.
F1's CT side setup on their pistol round saw three players holding drop, with only a single player watching the door cross on A. This setup proved to be their downfall as Mythic ran a quick execute onto the A site — sealing F1's fate by taking the second pistol round of the match. F1 fared no better against Mythic's offensive side as adreN & co. swiftly closed out the match by racking up the last five rounds to take the victory 16-4.
