FaZe will make their way to Los Angeles with a new fifth man in tow

FaZe invited to iBUYPOWER Masters 2019

The event will likely see the LAN debut of the new FaZe roster.

iBUYPOWER have announced FaZe as the fourth team to receive an invite to their upcoming Masters event, set to take place from January 19-20th next year. The event will run concurrent to the IEM Katowice Minors, leaving only a select number of teams available to participate.

Having benched former in-game leader Finn "karrigan" Anderson earlier in the week, iBUYPOWER Masters will likely play host to the LAN debut of FaZe with their new player. It is currently unknown who FaZe intend to field at the event.

FaZe has had a rough few months compared to their prior form and placements, with the team being unable to qualify for both ECS Season 6 and EPL Season 8 Finals. They were also eliminated at IEM Chicago in the semifinals by Liquid, with their sole event win in the last six months being at EPICENTER Moscow.

As both Astralis and FaZe remain Legends for the upcoming Major, their schedule remains clear until the end of February. Similarly, fnatic will have little to do until the middle of February rolls around for the New Challengers stage, while Luminosity failed to qualify for this Major cycle.

The three Major participating teams will likely use the event to practice and warmup for the Major, with Astralis' Nicolai "device" Reedtz citing a need for Legends teams to be prepared going into the Major as the Challengers are the first to warmup.

With half of the participants now confirmed, the team list for iBUYPOWER Masters 2019 is:

Denmark Astralis FaZe
Sweden fnatic Brazil Luminosity

iBUYPOWER Masters will run from January 19-20th at the Avalon Theatre Hollywood in Los Angeles, California.
