skullz is now NA

Official: Liquid unveil skullz

The team begins.

Liquid have officially announced the arrival of Felipe "skullz" Medeiros to their Counter-Strike roster. The young 21-year-old comes from paiN, where he spent more than year on the starting roster before leaving this fall. Liquid are expected to unveil the rest of the roster in due course.

The young Brazilian player is relatively unknown at the international level and enters the organization as one of the most inexperienced players alongside Keith "NAF" Markovic, Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis, and the potential additions of Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken and Casper "cadiaN" Møller. Despite his inexperience, skullz is one of the region's most exciting prospects and has proven himself so far.

Since joining paiN, skullz has earned a 1.17 HLTV Rating on LAN despite the constant roster turmoil surrounding him. paiN was also able to make it to the 2023 BLAST.tv Paris Major where skullz was a driving force in the qualification matches, putting together a 1.41 HLTV Rating over seven maps.

skullz was initially reported to have been in talks with Fluxo, however those died upon Liquid's interest in the player. He isn't coming cheap either, with a rumored $600,000 price tag on his head.

The Brazilian joining the roster also means that Liquid is expected to compete for the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major in the Americas, thanks to a core of NAF, Twistzz, and skullz. Previously, Liquid had shifted its core to a European roster. This meant the squad would have had to play in the old continent and the Americas would lose one of its Major allocation spots. Due to the core of Liquid that participated at the Major no longer being together, that spot has automatically been returned to the Americas.

Liquid are expected to add more members, but for now their roster is:

  • Canada Keith "NAF" Markovic

  • Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis

  • Brazil Felipe "skullz" Medeiros
