Forsaken finalize BLAST Showdown teams
The teams for the BLAST Premier Rest of the World Fall Showdown have been finalized with Forsaken taking the crown at the Ace North American Masters Fall 2023 qualifier as they took down Party Astronauts 2-0 in the final and only dropped a single map to Nouns.
It was a tournament to forget for Bad News Bears, who have continued to struggle since their reorganization just a few months ago. They failed to win a single map as they exited 0-2, but did have the pleasure of pushing eventual winners Forsaken to overtime in the first match of the competition.
As for Nouns, they will also be disappointed in themselves for failing to reach the final having lost to both finalists, with Forsaken taking the honors of eliminating them in the playoffs.
On the bright side, Forsaken have quietly become one of North America's strongest teams with Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz leading the young stars in Jerric "wiz" Jiang and Josh "JBa" Barutt to outshine the competition. JBa is handsomely rewarding stanislaw for the faith shown in him as he shone throughout the qualifier, posting a 1.14 HLTV Rating, a 1.05 Impact Rating, and an 80.1% KAST. Since joining from Limitless in July, JBa has become one of the hottest stars in the region.
It should also not be ignored that wiz once again returned to his dominant form, as the AWPer came away from the event with a leading 1.26 HLTV Rating, 1.28 Impact Rating, and a 75.5% KAST. Having faced heavy criticism during his time on Evil Geniuses, it appears that the young player has not let it affect him as he has continued to be a force to be reckoned with in North American competition.
