cadiaN screams back at those on social media

cadiaN: "G2, you spend so much money on CS... you should beat Heroic every fucking time and you don't"

The oft-scrutinized AWPer fired back at his critics and spoke about how he is handling the pressure.

The Danish AWPer of Heroic took a few minutes after his team's victory over G2 to speak with Dust2.us about the pressure the team faces to succeed, recent social media comments about his role in the HUNDEN cheating scandal, and his emotional outbursts during games.

Beating G2 with a big comeback, what were your thoughts when you were down and started to chip away at their lead?

I think we started really good on the CT-side, there were some rounds where we didn't follow our game plan completely, we should have never lost that first round which activated them, with the Tec-9s and stuff on B. We knew that was coming. So, we started off good, kind of lost track a little in the middle of the game and you can call it luck that we ended up having a chance to come back or skill because we've also done it many times before. You also saw it in the third map of the Major against them, we were done like 14-6 or something, 13-6 maybe, and came back. So we are a team that always keeps believing. But also like frustrated with some of the situations where we should have done more, kind of the same in some of yesterday's games, we are not at our A-game yet but I'm not going to sit here and be sad after that comeback.

So I think mentality is a big component of this team, you are obviously a very emotional team, you are very loud and shouty, how important is it to be consistent with that coming through a game?

Yeah it's super important you know, it's always easy to be hype when you are winning rounds and stuff like this but when you lose it's obviously way more difficult because you don't have the momentum or the round wins coming your way. So you also can't just lose a round and be like "Yeah boys, let's fucking go!" So you have to find some kind of middle ground. I think we are good at that, still keeping focus on the next step and the next round and still making sure we compliment the good stuff that happened throughout the round even if we lose, if it's the flashes, the setups, or the communication. There's many ways you can be hype, being hype is a universal language, you don't have to scream and jump up and down, if you just tell your teammate "You're fucking sick right now" that's also hyping him a lot. So yeah we each have in our own way and we have a good chemistry with that.

Obviously, there's a lot of talk outside the server and a lot of speculation and criticism of the team in this last year, how do you handle those outside pressures in an event like this which is one of the most pressured events you play in a year?

I mean it's funny, the more we win the more they talk about us.

Of course, the more you win the more they speculate. Any ways you try and handle it?

I mean, I don't really think it's affecting us much, if anything it's putting fuel to the fire because we know what the situation is like and obviously it's super fustrating when people or a team handle it through social media. Like if anything, come and have a talk, I'll definitely explain our side of the story. Retweeting sneaky stuff on Twitter, I think that's just immature.

I think we all know you are talking about yesterday's retweet by NiKo and the tweet talking about you guys and how loud you were, was today a little bit of a grudge match for that? Any factors going into that?

100% a grudge match, don't do me like that. That's just stupid. Definitely gonna put fuel to the fire and put more energy into the game but I mean the fans also love a bit of drama, I'm not sure when you are such big favorites as G2 you spend so much money on Counter-Strike that you want to create that kind of tension in a game like this, where you should beat Heroic every fucking time and you don't. So creating that drama, just fuelling us up and putting in the mind games, I appreciate you.

Heroic and cadiaN are scheduled to play tomorrow in a BO3 with the hope of advancing to the playoffs arena next weekend.
