Complexity defeat Heroic in nail-biting OT affair to secure 2-0
Following their opening victory against paiN, Complexity stood just two matches away from the playoff stage of the Copenhagen Major. Their 1-0 draw was no pushover however as they faced Heroic in their second BO1 of the day.
The vetoes drew both teams towards Vertigo, an apt middle ground for the two teams. Complexity started on the defense with a completely flawless pistol round, but their elation was quickly drawn away as a forcebuy from Heroic left them speechless. Further anti-ecos and the first gun round victory put Heroic four rounds ahead at 5-1, but some clean late-round scenarios followed by strong entries brought Complexity six in a row to win the half.
A tense T-pistol gave Heroic their sixth and seventh with Complexity winning the first gun round of the half to break the tie. Back and forth rounds ensued with nail-biting endings. The first to break the streak was Complexity, taking their eleventh in the face of Heroic's nine. It looked all but secured as Complexity teed up their twelfth, but it was three in a row from Heroic to secure overtime.
Heroic nabbed the first of OT thanks to a spectacular flank from Guy "NertZ" Iluz while a quad-kill from Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski secured a tie. Heroic won the third to gain a lead into the second half of overtime. A 5v2 turned 1v2 in Complexity's favor made it fourteen all. A solid A site defense made it fifteen for Complexity before a fourth squandered match point sent us to double overtime.
Nail-biting rounds went either way up until 17-17 with a 12hp Michael "Grim" Wince clutch giving Complexity their fifth match point. Finally, on their fifth attempt, Complexity brought it across the line to finish the game.
