paiN on the brink of elimination after 0-2 start
paiN fell in the first match of the Elimination Stage to Complexity, after a solid showing from the North Americans. To bounce back with a win, paiN would have to go through Virtus.pro, who had previously lost against Imperial in an uncharacteristic fashion.
Unfortunately, following a close 13-9 loss paiN are now in the 0-2 pool, as they will face elimination tomorrow in a BO3 series.
The match was played on Inferno, where the Russians had just lost to Imperial, only this time, Virtus.pro were able to claim a successful 7-5 CT-side half, as all five players were showing good numbers. On the Brazilian side, Kaue "kauez" Kaschuk was the one trying to save his team from a more lopsided scoreline.
paiN couldn't get off to a good start on the CT-side, as VP opened the half with three round wins. paiN claimed four rounds on the half, making it more competitive, but that was it, as Virtus.pro, on the back of an amazing Nikolay "mir" Bityukov performance, would claim the 13-9 win to send paiN to the 0-2 bracket.
