The former Liquid and Rogue player has made the move over to VALORANT

100 Thieves sign Hiko to VALORANT team

The veteran CS:GO player will helm the organization's VALORANT project.

100 Thieves have announced the signing of former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player Spencer  "Hiko" Martin to their VALORANT team, with the player set to act as the team's captain. Additionally, Hiko has formally announced his retirement from CS:GO.

During his nine-year-long career in CS:GO, Hiko played with some of the largest teams in the scene, attending Majors with compLexity, Cloud9, and Liquid. His 17-month tenure on Liquid marked the apex of his career, with the team being the most accomplished North American lineup at the time. During his time with Liquid, they notably claimed a 3rd-4th place finish at MLG Columbus 2016 and a 2nd place finish at ESL One Cologne 2016, a monumental achievement for North America that would only be surpassed by Cloud9 at ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018.

Following the end of his tenure with Liquid in early 2017, Hiko briefly played as a stand-in for OpTic before becoming a founding member of Rogue's North American CS:GO squad. While Rogue failed to crack into the upper echelon of North American teams, they did manage to claim a spot at FACEIT Major London 2018, bringing Hiko's total number of Major attendances to nine, an achievement only topped by four other North American players.

After Rogue, Hiko struggled to find his way onto another squad, only making a handful of appearances since then with ATK and Ze Pug Godz. Now, under the 100 Thieves banner, it will be worth watching to see if Hiko can translate his star-studded CS:GO career into a new title.
