Orgless, Triumph, Yeah, and Envy remain in contention for final Americas Minor spots

For four rosters, the dream of reaching Rio still remains alive after the conclusion of the second day of the ESL One Rio Americas Minor North America Closed Qualifier. Eight teams found those very hopes crushed as the majority of the lower bracket played out, leaving just two matches left to play on the final day of the tournament.

Triumph sought to bring their success in MDL into the Closed Qualifier, and they succeeded in their first matchup in the lower bracket against Swole Identity. Micheal "Grim" Wince had a stellar series, ending with 57 frags combined across Overpass and Vertigo.

Triumph eventually prevailed against the  Mythic stream team in what ended up being a three-map slugfest. Two of the three maps went to thirty rounds, including the decider where Grim and Corbin "C0M" Lee went toe to toe. Grim bested C0M and Mythic, edging out C0M's 25 kills with 27 of his own for a grand total of 68 in the series. The series was also not without controversy, with Kaitlin "Keiti" Boop drawing attention to visibility issues with models at Long A.

The first two maps of this series both required overtime to find a winner, with each team stealing the other's map pick. Envy started the decider with a 12-3 T-side on Overpass, closing out map three much more quickly than the previous two to send Envy through. Buğra "Calyx" Arkın was an absolute terror for Chaos this series, he led the server in kills in the first two maps, and was only just behind Michał "MICHU" Müller  on map three. Calyx finished the series with 86 kills and a 1.22 rating.
