The rising star has been freed from his contract just in time for the NA shuffle

WARDELL announces free agency

After three months on the bench, WARDELL has been released from his multi-year contract early.

Star AWPer Matthew "WARDELL" Yu has announced on Twitter that he has been released from Ghost and is now a free agent.

WARDELL was the last  player tied to Ghost following the organization's decision to release the remainder of their CS:GO squad and step back from the game on June 12th.

This is due to the player having signed a three-year contract with Ghost back in November 2018. Dust2.us has learned from sources close to the player that his contract was unilaterally terminated by Ghost and he has no further obligations to the organization.

In an interview at Fragadelphia 13 with Dust2.us writer Danish "Nohte" Allana, WARDELL mentioned that he has been looking at offers from all over the world, although he stipulated at the time he was only giving attention to offer from teams that are "compet[ing] in tier one events".

His exit from Ghost comes at a fortuitous time as Misfits, 100 Thieves, and Dignitas have are all reportedly looking to re-enter CS:GO. Additionally, Complexity CEO Jason "1" Lake is currently looking to overhaul the team after their 1-3 exit from StarLadder Berlin Major New Challengers stage.
