ESL One Cologne announced for 2018

Arguably the most well known CS:GO tournament returns for 2018.

The flagship ESL One event is returning for 2018. Held in the LANXESS Arena, ESL One Cologne 2018 is set to continue on with the legacy the event has held for the past five years of competition.

Being hosted between July 3rd-8th, the tournament will feature a couple differences as well. First up, it's prize pool has received a bump up to $300,000 and is also part of the Intel Grand Slam circuit, where $1,000,000 is up for grabs. As usual, it will be a 16 team tournament with a group stage held away from the arena.

Information on qualifiers or invites are yet to be announced, nor is any information on the potential Major status of the event. Tickets for the play-off section of the event, held over July 6th-8th in the LANXESS Arena, are set to go on sale Friday at 7am EST (12:00 local time). Full information can be found on the ESL One website.

Dust2 Birthday cake!
Hopefully this'll end up being another good tournament for ESL, and that they can minimize their technical issues in delays so people will finally stop complaining about it.

They're receiving free content (well unless net neutrality gets repealed...), people always end up complaining when they should moreover spotlight the better things. Especially since they aren't hosting Valve-Majors anymore, the criticism shouldn't be as much as people make it to be.
