Big Frames and bowlin' in the final ECS Challenger Cup qualifier

The first day has come to an end and, as is the format, eight teams are headed for tonight's quarterfinal.

The final open qualifier for the ECS Season 7 Challenger Cup has started, and with 81 teams having signed up, the most of any of the qualifiers, we're down to the final eight in the quarterfinal stage.

After the last qualifier saw Ghost and The Quest become the fifth and sixth teams to secure qualification to the Challenger Cup, there are just two spots remaining. Out of the 81 teams, MDL teams Infamous, iNTACT and a selection of Forty Six and 2 players have made it to the top eight.

The quarterfinals also sees Advanced team Big Frames, who recently reunited with Jimmy "Nurfed" McFadden and Thomas "tconnors" Connors, join the list as well as seeing Farmers return to the quarterfinals from the second open qualifier. The remaining three teams come from ESEA Main, in the forms of lets go bowlin, Cyclone and SODMG, the latter of which are also repeat attendees.

The quarterfinals are as follows:

United States lets go bowlin -vs- Mexico Forty Six and 2
United States Big Frames -vs- United States iNTACT
United States Infamous -vs- United States Cyclone
United States Farmers -vs- United States SODMG

All quarterfinal matches are set to start at 7 PM EST, with the semifinals scheduled for 10 PM EST. Both rounds are to be played in a best-of-three format. The winning teams of the semifinal matches will join Ghost, The Quest, Mythic, Party Astronauts, Zone, MASSIVEimpact and eight invited teams in the ECS Season 7 Challenger Cup this March. Dates and more details on any qualifier can be found on the Dust2.us Calendar
