NTC may have found their fifth

NTC in talks to sign chelo and Apoka

The Brazilian squad may have completed their roster with the signing of a fifth player and coach.

Não Tem Como are set to sign Luminosity's Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes as their fifth player, according to a report from teamplay.com.br. This move would complete NTC's roster after the recent reacquisition of Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe and depature of Henrique "HEN1" Teles and twin brother Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles.

Reportedly joining chelo in his move is Luminosity's coach, Alessandro "Apoka" Marcucci, who's prior history with Lincoln "fnx" Lau and Bruno "bit" Lima makes him a fantastic candidate to round out the squad. His history with bit and fnx dates back as far as GameCrashers' CS:1.6 lineup in 2004, although he has coached the players on multiple rosters in CS:1.6, CS:S, and CS:GO ever since. His experience and tenure in the Brazilian and international scenes will hope to help in adding discipline to members of the team should issues arise.

Apoka and chelo joined Luminosity in the summer of 2017, but have had few opportunities to help the team demonstrate their abilities on LAN. By falling short in online closed qualifiers, Luminosity have been left to play in online leagues in hopes of securing a spot at LAN for themselves.

A group stage elimination by the hands of mousesports at ECS Season 4 Finals is their sole LAN result in recent months, with chelo placing in the middle of the pack in terms of statistics. His performance versus fnatic showed more promise, and online play shows him steadily improving as an individual. With a new core of players around him, he now has the opportunity to elevate his game even further, and will look to make a name for himself in the international scene as the team looks to break out.

The Luminosity roster currently sits on the brink of qualification for ESL Pro League's Season 7 LAN finals in Dallas, needing to win out their remaining four matches if they hope to push past SK. It is unknown whether chelo will finish the remaining matches with the team, or if he is already on the way to Germany to join the rest of the NTC lineup for their bootcamp at SK's training center.

The NTC lineup are still reportedly being signed by SK, with the organization seemingly waiting out the contracts of their current lineup — a team who are reportedly set to join Immortals under the legendary mibr brand themselves.

With the reported additions of chelo and Apoka, NTC's roster would be as follows:

  • Brazil Bruno "bit" Lima
  • Brazil Lincoln "fnx" Lau
  • Brazil João "felps" Vasconcellos
  • Brazil Vito "kNg" Giuseppe
  • Brazil Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes
  • Brazil Alessandro "Apoka" Marcucci (Coach)
