neptune reveals he is 16
After a long year out of MDL and Pro League, Jason "neptune" Tran has finally turned 16, which will allow him to participate in ESEA MDL as well as ESL Pro League.
neptune's age became the focal point of his career after it was revealed he was only 15 years of age in 2017. The reveal was particularly important due to Ghost qualifying for ESL Pro League Season 6, which has a minimum age limit of 16. With one of their strongest players unable to participate in the league, neptune was benched from the team and Dallas "Dallas" Micks was brought in to round out the roster.
After being benched, neptune returned to MDL, where he briefly played with ex-Nitrious before joining Ghost Academy. With neptune, Ghost Academy placed 4th in the MDL regular season and reached the semifinals of the ESEA Global Challenge.
neptune's time in MDL did not last for long however, as the division was immediately given a minimum age limit of 16 the following season, forcing the 15-year-old to play in Main — and eventually Advanced — for the time being.
neptune returned to ESEA the next season in Main, where he played with FeelsUnderAgeMan, along with fellow youngsters Owen "oBo" Schlatter, Ryan "Snakes" Amann, and Nick "zeptic" Kaoud. The team made it to the semifinals of the division 's playoffs bracket before falling to Bravado.
While neptune chose to forgo playing online after his season with FeelsUnderAgeMan, the young player still played with mix teams at multiple American LANs, including the Chicago CS:GO Open, Fragadelphia 12, and the Cougar CS:GO Open.
Now eligible to play in MDL and Pro League, it'll only be a matter of time before neptune joins a team for the upcoming season. While we last reported that neptune was last under consideration by ex-Dignitas, multiple teams in MDL and Pro League have also reportedly expressed interest. Most notably, the player is still tied to Ghost, and Dust2.us knows that he has been scrimming with them this week.
