The rifler spoke following his elimination from the Major

Grim: "There's a lot to take away that is good and positive for us"

While it hurts now, there is a longer-term vision.

Complexity had it in the palm of their hand. It was 2-0 and they played MOUZ. Then the team abruptly collapsed and only managed three total rounds over two maps. The team looked lost, the squad was done. Then they played Vitality and it looked like it could have been a win. Overtime loss on the opponent's map pick, a solid Vertigo win, but then they came up short on Anubis. Then it was FaZe, and that wasn't even much of a fight.

Now the team is out of the Major and fans are looking at the multiple chances the squad had to qualify, but failed to capitalize upon. It's not an easy pill to swallow that there will not be an American team in the playoffs, but now Complexity can only pick up the pieces and assess what went wrong. After the loss, Michael "Grim" Wince spoke to Dust2.us' Ryan Friend about the elimination, if there should be questions for this squad, and how to respond to the questions about what went wrong.

Below are snippets of the conversation while the full video is on YouTube.

Tough elimination, 0-2 against FaZe. Going from 2-0 to 2-3 has to hurt.

Yeah, definitely hurts. The road was very hard for us but that's no excuse. Starting up 2-0, we had three chances to make it and we fell through in all of them. We got obliterated by MOUZ and then Vitality, we had a really good chance, we should have taken that game, some small mistakes and some things go our way we would have won that game. Today, we felt like we were coming back on Nuke and then we just got blown out of proportion on the T-side. I'd say that on Overpass they were reading us pretty well and they had a bunch of good rotates and they were always stacked where we were going. They were just beating us to the punch really. Sucks to go out in this fashion.

There are going to be a lot of questions about this Complexity team having gone 2-0 to 2-3. Do you feel like there should be questions about this team and what you are able to accomplish?

I'd say we are definitely making progress and taking steps in the right direction. We had a really good boot camp, and we showed a lot of good things, honestly. We shouldn't be too down on ourselves. Again, the MOUZ game sucked for us, but, besides that, we showed up really good against these [high] caliber teams, and, as I said, another day, not making some small mistakes, we could have come out on top against Vitality. I think there is a lot to improve on, obviously, but there's a lot to take away that's good and positive for us, in my opinion.

What do you say to fans who are looking for answers to what might have gone wrong over these last three BO3s?

Thank you for all the support. I see it all the time on Twitter replies. This was definitely our best shot at making the playoffs, and unfortunately, we didn't follow through. I appreciate it if you keep the support coming. I think there are a lot of good takeaways, and it's a matter of time before we take one of these games over the line and make the playoffs at a Major. Thank you for everything so far.
