refrezh reportedly reaches verbal agreement with Evil Geniuses

The roster is reportedly set to get another European import.

According to a report by BLIX, Evil Geniuses have a verbal agreement with Ismail "refrezh" Ali to join the main roster in place of Jadan "HexT" Postma. The former Sprout rifler recently benched himself on the German organization after differences with the structure and direction of the roster.

Evil Geniuses have reportedly agreed with the player, however Dust2.us knows that nothing has been finalized at the moment. With many questions surrounding the Seattle-based organization following a disappointing 2023 season that included a failure to qualify for the BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR, it is not surprising that the team is reportedly making roster changes at this point.

For HexT, it marks the end of a nine month stint on the main roster after his promotion from EG Black. The young Canadian was thrown into an experienced squad and soon made his mark by being an emotional lighting rod thanks to his LAN trash talk.

Should the refrezh move come to fruition, it would be the second European import for the squad and likely the last as the team intends to remain majority North American.

If Evil Geniuses sign refrezh in place of HexT, the roster will be as follows:

  • United States Vincent "Brehze Cayonte

  • United States Timothy "autimatic" Ta

  • Sanzhar "neaLaN" İskhakov

  • United States Jerric "wiz" Jiang

  • Denmark Ismail "refrezh" Ali

  • Denmark Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg (Coach)

Once again feels like a confused move. Idk, maybe having another voice in the team with T1 experience will be helpful, but idrk if that's the problem. The team has plenty of experienced players. If I were to replace HexT or wiz, I would've gone for a firepower upgrade. If I wanted to change the system, I would've replaced Brehze or Nealan. Hopefully they have more success tho.

I think that it's actually a really good move. Experienced T1 player from Heroic now on a team that needs more cohesion and leadership.

I like this move for the main roster, hate to see my boy HexT leave tho. Also leaves questions on the Blueprint project. Stan is now AFK from EG Black and EG White has still hardly played anything to my knowledge
