9z falter versus forZe in Roobet Cup
forZe has taken down 9z 2-0 in the winner's match of Group D of the Roobet Cup. 9z was unable to continue the form they showed yesterday, in which the South American side took down Brazilian heavyweights FURIA.
9z got off to a strong start on their pick of Mirage, storming ahead with a seven-round streak to begin the map. forZe answered back with two rounds to break the streak, but 9z put a halt to that with another round, posting an 8-2 lead on their T-side. After this, things began to slip away for the LATAM side, as forZe locked down the last five rounds of the half to cut 9z's lead down to only 8-7 at the half.
forZe kept up their momentum by securing the second pistol round, and the following two rounds to take the lead for the first time this game. The two squads traded rounds for a while before 9z was finally able to regain control of the match once again as they lead 14-12. Unfortunately for 9z, things fell apart once again, as forZe locked down the remaining four rounds to steal away Mirage 16-14.
forZe continued their winning ways on their pick of Dust2, snatching five of the first six rounds on their T-side. 9z started to pull it back, piecing some streaky rounds together to cut down the Russian squad's lead. In the end, forZe still came out on top in the first half, albeit just barely, with an 8-7 scoreline.
9z secured the second half pistol round win, something that would greatly help any chances of taking the series to a third map. forZe was not interested in going to a third map, however, as they won the force-buy round, kickstarting a five-round streak that extended their lead to a 13-8 scoreline, within throwing distance of closing out the series. Although 9z was able to break the streak with a round of their own, it did little to stop forZe from continuing to march on to victory, as they finished the map 16-9.
