The event is set to begin on September 5th with the New Challengers stage, which will determine eight teams to move on to the next New Legends stage. Valve recently announced the two teams to exit last in the New Legends Stage would not receive spots in the New Challengers stage of IEM Katowice 2018 and would instead need to play through the Minors.
