It was a barn-burner of a game

JT on EliGE: "He's one of the best CS2 players in the world"

Complexity advance ever closer to the stage.

After an early victory over paiN, Complexity's second match of the Copenhagen Major was against the pseudo-Danish Heroic, an upstart team that amazed in the Opening Stage and an upset over FaZe to start the Elimination Stage. The match was an all-out brawl, requiring two overtimes for Complexity to shut the door on their fifth match point. After the grueling game full of individual prowess and individual mistakes, Dust2.us' Ryan Friend spoke to the team's captain, Johnny "JT" Theodosiou about the team's performance and chances after the first day.

Congrats on the win, what a dragged out win over Heroic. You've got to be exhausted.

Yeah that a pretty epic game. Honestly, really tiring, we were just knocking our heads into each other's walls. It was a close game, I think we got lucky a few rounds but I guess they did too. I'm happy we were able to keep our composure up the whole game through.

Some lucky rounds for sure, there was an EliGE 3k while blind. Those kind of rounds, how do they help boost the team or change any tactics you have?

I mean, EliGE is always going to pop off a few rounds every single game. I think he told us after that 3k blind that if we wanna be able to do that, we have to play some more Refrag. I guess I'm gonna be logging into refrag tonight and practicing my spray just like he does.

Was that a plug for Refrag?

Yeah that's a plug. I hope they pay me for that later. Honestly, we've all been playing a lot of Refrag and aim training and we're all trying to get our individual level up. We're trying to take note of what Jon's doing since he's one of the best CS2 players in the world in my opinion, especially mechanically. We're all trying to up our level like that and refrag has been a big help.

2-0 for you guys. You have not necessarily had the best track record at Majors, this is your best start ever. You also came in a little bit cold not having played the opening stage. How do you think your position is now knowing you have three chances to qualify for playoffs?

I said before the tournament started that we were in really good form. We had a really good bootcamp, we're playing well, everyone is on the same page, and we have a good chance of going far in this tournament. As long as we keep it up and stay focused for the BO3s that are now coming up, we should be able to be able to go far in my opinion.
