The dog days aren't over quite yet

Complexity fall out of Top 10 for first time since IEM Sydney

It's been a grim few months for the squad.

HLTV's newest ranking update on February 19th shook up the Counter-Strike standings, leaving the top six teams unchanged but moving most teams below that.

Complexity are, unfortunately, one of the biggest victims of this ranking update, dropping from 9th place last week to 14th this week. This marks the lowest the team has been ranked since October 16th, 2023 when the team jumped to #8 on the leaderboard the next week following their second-place finish at IEM Sydney 2023.

Contributing to this decrease is a 9-12th finish at IEM Katowice due to losses to Spirit and Falcons and especially losses to NAVI and NIP at BLAST Spring Groups, exiting that tournament 0-4 in maps. Although those results were factored in last week's ranking, the recency of those events plus the diminishing relevancy of IEM Sydney led to Complexity dropping from 267 to 210 ranking points.

With no matches to speak of, Liquid gained a point but dropped a spot from #24 to #25 in the world. FURIA also gained points, 190 to 198, but lost placement, from #14 to #16. MIBR dropped a few rating points, which led to them slipping from #20 to #21 in the world.

Overall, it's been a poor week for North and South America alike, however with few relevant tournaments to speak of, we shouldn't expect much more. All relevant teams are preparing for the Americas RMR, starting March 1st, and even smaller tournaments like ESL Challenger Melbourne's Closed Qualifiers are seeing few big names due to scheduling conflicts with the main event.
