Buffdaddy's PayPal Team win ESEA Advanced Season 33 to qualify for MDL Season 34
Buffdaddy's PayPal Team have won ESEA Advanced Season 33, going undefeated through the upper bracket and fending off a sweep in the grand finals from blood, sweat, and tears to qualify for MDL Season 34.
blood, sweat, and tears got off to a favorable start on their pick of Inferno, running up a 5-1 lead on their T-side before Buffdaddy's PayPal Team were able to consistently reply with rounds of their own. A resurgence towards the latter portion of the half allowed Buffdaddy's PayPal Team to put seven on the board by the break, but a CT pistol win for blood, sweat, and tears allowed Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen's side to keep the upper hand, pushing up to a 10-7 scoreline.
Andrew "ShoT_UP" Orlowski and company won five in a row to briefly take the lead from their opposition, but in the end, blood, sweat, and tears stole away the map win as they only conceded one additional round on the road to a 16-13 victory, evening the series score at 1-1.
blood, sweat, and tears continued their winning ways as they dominated on Dust2, crushing the defense of Buffdaddy's PayPal Team to run up an 11-4 lead at halftime. The luck of Shawn "witmer" Taylor's side did not improve in the second half as they were quickly locked out of the map, with blood, sweat, and tears taking the lead in the series with a 16-8 map win.
Buffdaddy's PayPal Team seemed set to get swept in the series as they once again were on the back foot as Overpass got underway, at one point trailing blood, sweat, and tears 1-7. witmer's men kept themselves in the running as they clawed back six of the ensuing seven rounds, but were unable to maintain momentum at the start of the second half as they dropped yet another pistol round. Despite the setback, Buffdaddy's PayPal Team managed to demonstrate a solid offense, grinding back the rounds to narrowly edge out the map victory 16-14 thanks in part to a stellar effort from ShoT_UP.
The final map of the series, Nuke, was a stark departure from the first three, with Buffdaddy's PayPal Team maintaining control for much of the first half on the T-side to gain a 9-6 lead by halftime. A pistol win following the side swap sealed the deal for ShoT_UP and company as the team quickly added six rounds to their tally to sit upon match point, closing out the series three rounds later with a 16-8 final score.
