Official: Evil Geniuses promote Blueprint roster

The organization has confirmed to Dust2.us their next roster moving forward.

Evil Geniuses have confirmed that their next roster for the main lineup will include four members of the Evil Geniuses Black roster. EG created the Blueprint project approximately one year ago, with the objective to create a sustainable North American roster and develop players that would be ready for tier one competition. After underwhelming success within that last year for the organization's main roster, EG are now giving their domestic roster a chance at success.

This new roster roster, which effectively promotes their Blueprint roster directly into the main team, comes with one change, Will "RUSH" Wierzba will not be continuing on the active lineup. In his place, Timothy "autimatic" Ta will be the sole player from the previous iteration to maintain a spot on the team. Moving forward, RUSH will act as a "6th man" and will effectively be a substitute player for the main lineup moving forward.

Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte, Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov, Jerric "wiz" Jiang, and Ismail "refrezh" Ali, meanwhile, will not be part of the active roster and have been allowed to search for opportunities elsewhere. Brehze leaves EG's starting lineup after nearly three years, having joined when EG acquired NRG in 2019. At his peak, Brehze was considered a top rifler in NA, but his form has sharply declined, leading to his benching.

Yesterday, June 23rd, Dust2.us' Ryan Friend and EG's Director of Athletics, Soham "valens" Chowdhury, had a lengthy conversation to discuss the future of EG, the logistics behind the potential European-core roster, and why the organization decided on promoting from within their academy program. The conversation, in full, will be released on Monday at 03:00PM on Dust2.us.

In that conversation with valens, he explained that the reason for moving on from neaLan, wiz, refrezh, and Brehze all together was to allow the strong core of EG Black to continue forward as a unit instead of potentially splitting up the group and ruining the strong cohesion the squad has.

This is also the rationale offered for retaining Tommy "Axed" Ryan as the head coach of the roster over Frenchman Damien "maLeK" Marcel. By only making one change, valens argued the newly promoted roster can continue to excel and gain valuable experience from European invites, competition, and bootcamps. Additionally, while EG will no longer currently field any academy teams as a result of this move, they are evaluating the space and will make a decision on the future of that program in the next few weeks.

Evil Geniuses' main roster going forward will be:

  • United States Timothy "autimatic" Ta

  • Canada Colby "Walco" Walsh

  • United States Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott

  • United States Paytyn "junior" Johnson

  • Canada Jadan "HexT" Postma

  • United States Tommy "Axed" Ryan (Coach)

  • United States William "RUSH" Wierzba (Substitute)
