MIBR were likely surprised by the stiff opposition they met against The Quest in their opening matchup

ex-Singularity upset oNe, MIBR prevail over The Quest

Four teams remain in the final week of ECS with one spot in the Finals still up for grabs.

The final week of ECS' online segment has kicked off with ex-Singularity, eUnited, MIBR, and ATK moving on to compete for one final spot at the ECS Finals.

The first series saw Brazilian squad INTZ take on eUnited in a hard fought two map series with eUnited scraping away with the win  after besting INTZ on Train and Vertigo.

Beginning on Train, eUnited started off by winning four rounds straight and continuing to stonewall the Brazilian offense en route to a 9-2 start. INTZ countered by winning the last four rounds of the half to end things off at a respectable 9-6 but lost the second half pistol giving eUnited a massive advantage. Try as they might, INTZ could not overcome the early lead gained by eUnited and the T-side economy prevailed as the NA mix took the map 16-12.

Contrary to their own map pick, INTZ started off Vertigo with three straight rounds, culminating with a 6-1 scoreline. eUnited's defense stabilized as they won out the rest of the half securing another 9-6 scoreline in their favor. Another pistol round win seemed to bode well for the NA squad but INTZ answered back with four straight tying the map at 10 all. After trading rounds back and forth, INTZ gained a 13-12 lead, but eUnited dug deep and went on a four round streak to take home the map 16-13 and sweep INTZ 2-0 in the series.

Series two brought a high flying oNe up against the mix of ex-Singularity. The puggers brought the fight to oNe with each team taking their opponent's map pick but ex-Singularity won out in the end on Nuke.

Mirage started off well for oNe as they won pistol and the following two rounds. Once guns came into play for ex-Singularity however, the NA team struck back with seven straight and won out the half 10-5. The second half saw oNe start off strong again bringing it back to 10-9. The Brazilians never looked back as they stormed through the rest of the map winning by a score of 16-11.

With their backs up against the wall and their opponents map pick of Inferno to be played, ex-Singularity did not start off well losing the first three rounds. They answered back with five straight, but oNe were able to close the half 8-7 on their CT-side. The second half saw oNe repeat their pistol successes again winning three straight, but ex-Singularity stopped the offensive by stringing seven rounds together to grab a lead and eventually closed out the map 16-14.

For the first time in the series, ex-Singularity won a pistol round and Nuke started to go their way, but oNe shortly answered back and closed out their Terrorist half 8-7. Returning to their usual pistol form, oNe pounced yet again, but the third round gun buy from ex-Singularity blindsided the Brazilians and allowed the NA squad to catapult up to an 11-10 lead. oNe grabbed the next three rounds but it would be a futile gesture as ex-Singularity slammed the door on the Brazilian side winning the map 16-13 and taking the series 2-1.

The third matchup of the day saw the third and final Brazilian team participating, MIBR, up against NA MDL side The Quest. Vertigo was a spanner in the works as The Quest won their map pick over the heavily favored MIBR. Things returned to normal for the Brazilian squad on Mirage and Overpass as they were able to win out, but The Quest did manage to put up a considerable fight on the second map.

Vertigo was brought into play by The Quest and the NA squad started off with a pistol win on CT-side but lost the ensuing force round buy to MIBR. Counter-forcing worked out well for The Quest as they reset MIBR and used that momentum to shoot up to a 6-1 lead. The Brazilians battled back, eventually gaining a respectable 6-9 half with their CT side upcoming. The second pistol round was converted by the Brazilan team but The Quest never wavered and continued pushing onward to a 16-11 victory.

Mirage began much the same as Vertigo with The Quest winning the opening pistol round, followed by the two teams trading rounds back and forth culminating in a 9-6 half favoring the Brazilians on their CT-side. With a pistol round win in the second half, MIBR showed no signs of slowing down and their lead was never truly challenged until The Quest battled back to a 12-11 scoreline. The veteran presence on MIBR prevailed as they swept the last four rounds to take the map 16-11.

The final map of Overpass saw a much more smooth game for MIBR, as they started out with four rounds straight on T-side and never let that lead slip, closing out the half 10-5. The defensive half for MIBR showed much of the same as another pistol win propelled them to a 12-5 lead. The Quest battled back winning three straight to get within four rounds of their opposition, but MIBR closed out the series with four straight rounds to take it 16-8.

The final series was between ATK and Riot Squad, after ATK narrowly missed out on a spot at the ECS Finals in last week's bracket. The American/South African side got out to a strong start to the week by sweeping Riot Squad 2-0.

Despite winning the pistol round on Overpass, ATK stumbled after Riot Squad struck back with a second round force culminating in a four round streak. ATK regained their footing , however, battling back to take a lead at 6-5 and eventually closing out the half 9-6. The multinational roster started off with a phenomenal five rounds straight on their CT half which propelled them to a strong 15-7 lead. Riot Squad pressed hard and never gave up winning five straight before ATK could put the final nail in their coffin to take the map 16-12.

Nuke started off well for ATK as they took the first three rounds, but Riot Squad answered back winning eight in the middle of the half. ATK finished their T half off with three rounds straight and battled back to a 7-8 scoreline. A pistol round defuse brought ATK level with Riot Squad, but the Pujan "FNS" Mehta's side answered back with five rounds in a row to take a 13-8 lead. ATK was not to be outdone however as they finished off the series with eight straight rounds to take Nuke 16-13 and secure the series 2-0.
