Luminosity clung to life in this past season of EPL, narrowly avoiding relegation with a 9-13 record.

Luminosity overpower eUnited to qualify for DreamHack Open Valencia

Luminosity grind their way to Valencia, as they take down eUnited 2-1 in the finals of the North American Closed Qualifier.

Both the Open and Closed Qualifiers for DreamHack Valencia have concluded, with Luminosity snuffing out eUnited in a 2-1 final on Sunday. They now join the Danes of Fragsters as the only two teams confirmed so far for the event, which is set to take place in mid-July.

The day began by all four of the invited teams proving their direct seeding into the Closed Qualifier as no mistake, as they dispatched of all the qualifying teams in the first round.

After shutting down their MDL compatriots of Swole Patrol, eUnited steamed ahead, putting compLexity to rest in narrow fashion, as two of their three map series ended in close overtimes.

The lower half of the bracket saw Rogue barely make it out alive in their series against Gorilla Gang 2-1, just to have the tables turned on them by Luminosity in the series that followed, securing the Brazilian's spot in the finals.

The series to decide who would punch their ticket to Valencia was finally set, the all-too-familiar North America vs. Brazil match-up. Luminosity kicked things off by claiming their map pick of Inferno with a balanced 16-12 scoreline, with eUnited replying in kind by narrowly taking their pick of Overpass 16-13. It all came down to the decider of Mirage, which the Brazilians ran away with from start to finish in a dominant 16-2 fashion.

Dust2 Birthday cake!
Wow, expected coL to go through.
Btw devil, you put complexity instead of eUnited in the series recap. “with compLexity replying in kind by narrowly taking their pick of Inferno 16-13.”
