CLG Red eliminated from Intel Challenge Katowice by ARES fe

The Americans were unable to make a late recovery against a staunch Russian defense.

After an authoritative loss at the hands of Squared fe, the Americans of CLG Red were cast down to the lower bracket to fight for their tournament life against ARES fe.

On Train, the CLG women came out on top of a back and forth first half to the tune of 10-5. However, the side switch brought new lift to the Russians, who won ten rounds in a row to put the Americans on the brink of elimination.

It was at this point where veteran members of the squad Diane "di" Tran and Benita "bENITA" Novshadian kicked it into high gear, with multi-frag round after multi-frag round keeping their team in the game, and bringing the score to 15-14.

Alas, in the critical thirtieth round, ARES fe's defense withstood the CLG Red onslaught flawlessly, sending the Americans home with a disappointing 0-2 record.
