The band's back together (temporarily)
Ricky "floppy" Kemery is set to stand-in for Extra Salt in place of Justin "FaNg" Coakley this weekend for ESEA Summer 2021 Cash Cup 6. As a result, floppy will temporarily reunite with his former Cloud9 teammates and play in his second CS:GO tournament in recent weeks, having recently linked up with Josh "oSee" Ohm and Michael "Grim" Wince during Mythic Content Cup 2021.
Extra Salt's CEO Daniel "Gandalf" van Flymen told Dust2.us that floppy is stepping-in to help his former teammates due to FaNg having an unavoidable family commitment this weekend. The team's announcement of floppy standing-in elicited some intrigue and interest about the player's potential return to CS:GO, although neither Cloud9 nor floppy have made any announcement about his future in VALORANT or on the team.
However, according to a July 7th report by George Geddes of Upcomer, Cloud9 Blue have been practicing without floppy for some time, and floppy hasn't logged an official with Cloud9 Blue for more than a month. Additionally, Cloud9 Blue currently boasts a seven-player lineup, having just acquired former Chaos player Anthony "vanity" Malaspina from Version1 yesterday, notably reuniting him with former Chaos teammates Nathan "leaf" Orf and Erick "Xeppaa" Bach.
Extra Salt are set to play in the Cash Cup with:
- Johnny “JT” Theodosiou
- Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek
- Joshua "oSee" Ohm
- Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado
- Ricky "floppy" Kemery (Stand-in)
- Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen (Coach)
ESEA Summer 2021 Cash Cup 6 is currently underway, with Extra Salt receiving a bye in the first round.
