Triton await winner of X13 and Verum in Advanced grand final

All three remaining teams are guaranteed prize money and Relegation, but are looking to punch their tickets to Premier.

Just two matches are left to be played in ESEA Advanced Season 37, with the 16-team field reduced down to three.

Picking up with the upper bracket semi-finals, Triton made quick work of Upswing with twin 16-5 scorelines on Nuke and Dust2. All five Triton players had positive K/Ds across the two map series, while the inverse was true for Upswing.

X13 looked poised to run wild over Villainous, kicking off their series with a 16-1 laugher on Ancient. The latter team regained their composure on Nuke, however, taking the opening four rounds before X13 went on a seven round streak. Villainous would notch an equal streak in the second half, giving them a 15-14 lead, but stumbled at the final hurdle, allowing X13 to take the map to overtime, which they would go on to win.

The two victors and top-seeded squads clashed in the upper bracket final, with each team handily taking their own map pick to send the series to Vertigo. There, it was all Triton, as McKinley "Cyrix" Hollison and co. leapt out to a 5-0 lead before X13 could stop them on the defense. The lead would be extended to 12-3 at the half, and from there they were able to chip away round by round, taking the map 16-7 and putting themselves through to the grand final.

In round two of the lower bracket, HeadShotKings and UYU were both eliminated in two maps by Cold Ass Riding and Verum, respectively, with Andrew "Drew" Warkentin dropping 56 kills for his side in the former series.

Valkyrie and Infinity put up tougher fights against Kinship and Pryde, respectively, but both wound up falling in three maps. It should be noted that Infinity had to utilize coach Aldair "alone" Torres in place of Joel "tor1towOw" Rios Manrique for the latter part of Vertigo and all of Nuke.

In the fourth round of the lower bracket, Villainous finally put an end to Cold Ass Riding's tournament life, though overtime was required on Ancient to do so. Verum likewise needed all three maps and an overtime victory to send Upswing packing, with the trio of Millz, chew, and PNDLM again providing the majority of the firepower.

This set the stage for Villainous and Verum to face off in the lower bracket final. The two sides took each other's map picks, sending the series to the Nuke decider. Villainous rode two winning streaks to a 9-6 lead at the half, but Verum matched the feat on their own CT-side, and then secured flawless 4-0 overtime to take the map and series.
