This time Polen's leave will be more permanent as he heads back to college and enters the workforce

Polen steps down from Mythic

The second longest-tenured member of the roster will move on from his aspirations to stream full-time.

Adam "Polen" Polen announced this morning that he will be taking a step back from his competitive obligations with Mythic for the second time and will use the extra time to pursue a more traditional work schedule and finish his college education. Polen's tenure with Mythic dates all the way back to ECS Season 2, where he and the team were a part of the NA Development League in August of 2016.

Polen will continue streaming both CS:GO and VALORANT for the time being, but notes that his focus will shift to school and work when 2021 rolls around and streaming will become something he does for fun, rather than a means of supporting himself.

Mythic have used Austin "Cooper-" Abadir in DreamHack Masters Winter and ESEA Winter Cash Cup 1, but when Dust2.us reached out to Erik "fl0m" Flom to confirm the team's plans going forward he noted that the team is still unsure about how they will proceed for the long-term future. Cooper- averaged a 1.02 rating across nine maps for Mythic in DreamHack Masters Winter and a 1.05 rating in five maps in the Cash Cup.

For the immediate future, Mythic are:

  • United States Erik "fl0m" Flom
  • United States Eric "adreN" Hoag
  • United States Kaitlin "Keiti" Boop
  • Canada David "DAVEY" Stafford

Mythic have until the start of ESEA MDL Season 36 on January 18th to decide on a permanent fifth. ESEA Winter Cash Cup 2 will transpire in the meantime, from December 19-20, as a prime opportunity to trial any other candidates for the slot.

Dust2 Birthday cake!
A bit sad, but I'm hopeful with the core they have that whoever they pick up will raise the ceiling even higher
