The next weeks may the final time we see vanity's roster together
Chaos have announced their departure from CS:GO effective at the end of 2020, claiming their ability to support their team has "reached its limit" in light of COVID-19.
We honestly tried every route available to find them a new home but we exhausted all options😞 https://t.co/NVRODiSS4s— Chaos EC (@ChaosEC) December 3, 2020
The announcement marks the sad end to the organization's time supporting North American CS:GO, having entered the region at the end of 2019 with the signing of Ben's Anime Team. Although the team suffered a large number of roster changes over the past twelve months, notably Gage "Infinite" Green, Owen "smooya" Butterfield, and Joshua "steel" Nissan, they spent the majority of the year as a top 40 team on HLTV. Their apex as a team came recently as they rose to number 17 on the HLTV ranking after besting Evil Geniuses and winning IEM Beijing-Haidian North America.
Chaos' departure from North American CS:GO marks the continued exodus of organizations from the scene over the course of the year, with eUnited, Cloud9, Envy, New England Whalers, and Riot Squad all leaving or signing European-majority rosters in 2020.
Regarding the future of the team, in a post-match interview in DreamHack Masters Winter, Jonathan "Jonji" Carey suggested they may be going their seperate ways as they have been unable to find an offer for the complete lineup.
For the monent, Chaos' roster consists of:
- Anthony "vanity" Malaspina
- Erick "Xeppaa" Bach
- Jonathan "Jonji" Carey
- Nathan "leaf" Orf
- Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado
- Matthew "mCe" Elmore (Coach)
Chaos are currently competing in DreamHack Masters Winter and will be making their final appearance under the organization at IEM Global Challenge 2020 which is set to start on December 15th.
