JamezIRL has taken his talents to VALORANT

JamezIRL makes switch to Cloud9 VALORANT as strategic coach

The man of many talents will don a new hat for the organization.

Cloud9 have announced that James "JamezIRL" Macaulay will be sticking with the organization in the capacity of Strategic Coach for their VALORANT lineup.

JamezIRL most recently served as a consultant for the organization's American/South African CS:GO roster, which will be headed elsewhere as Cloud9 are now in the midst of assembling a European roster.

The move reunites him with Tyson "TenZ" Ngo, with whom he joined the organization on July 2nd of last year. Conversely, that move saw Daniel "vice" Kim be released and enter a period of inactivity, prior to making a return in VALORANT.

In addition to JamezIRL, the team have added Ash "Chu" Long as their Head Coach. The Brit formerly served as coach for Envy's Overwatch Contenders team for a period of over two years.

Cloud9 VALORANT are now:

  • Canada Tyson "TenZ" Ngo
  • United States Skyler "Relyks" Weaver
  • United States Mitch "mitch" Semago
  • United States Josh "shinobi" Abastado
  • United States Daniel "vice" Kim
  • United Kingdom Ash "Chu" Long (Head Coach)
  • United States James "JamezIRL" Macaulay (Strategic Coach)

The additions continue to show that Cloud9 are betting big on Riot's new FPS, as the organization also signed a South Korean squad at the end of August.

Cloud9's VALORANT roster most recently competed in B Site's Pop Flash event, where they placed in third behind Sentinels and Envy, two rosters who also feature a bevy of former CS:GO players.
