Chaos best Ze Pug Godz to advance to FunSpark ULTI 2020

Another standout performance from leaf helped Chaos claim a spot in the Chinese event.

Following a hard-fought series, Chaos have bested Ze Pug Godz 2-1 in an extended series to win the FunSpark ULTI 2020 North American Qualifier and claim a spot in the main Chinese event.

Following a similar veto to their previous encounter in winners’ finals,  the action started on Train with Ze Pug Godz bursting onto their opponent's map pick by winning the first three rounds on their CT-side. After this, Chaos answered by claiming five of the next six rounds before Ze Pug Godz won the last six rounds to take the half 10-5. After switching sides, Chaos demonstrated their continued proficiency on the map as they tore down Ze Pug Godz's lead by winning ten out of the next twelve rounds to secure map point. Unfortunately for Chaos, Ze Pug Godz finally found their footing, managing to take the last three rounds to force the map into overtime. Overtime ended up being a decisively one-sided affair, asChaos quickly overpowered their opponent, winning the next four rounds in a row to take Train 19-15.

Moving onto Inferno, Ze Pug Godz quickly shook off their loss on Train as they put on a dominant performance on their T-side bolstered by a strong opening half by Gage "Infinite" Green. Although Ze Pug Godz conceded the subsequent pistol and the following eco round to Chaos after switching sides, they never lost hold of the lead, claiming Inferno 16-10, and forcing the series onto Nuke.

With the series tied, the two squads were evenly matched in the opening half of Nuke, with Ze Pug Godz narrowly coming amount ahead on their CT-side 8-7. Moving onto their CT-side, Chaos immediately reclaimed the lead on Nuke after winning the first four rounds in a row climb up to 11-8. For the remainder of the map, Ze Pug Godz were hot on their heels, however, strong performances from Nathan "leaf" Orf and Josh "steel" Nissan allowed Chaos to stay ahead and claim map point. In the 29th round, Ze Pug Godz's fate was sealed thanks to a 4k tunnels defense by leaf that secured Chaos a 16-13 victory, punching their ticket to China.
