kaboose is the latest CS:GO player looking to give VALORANT a try

Swole Identity disband

Another victim of VALORANT's rampage through tier two CS:GO.

Swole Identity have disbanded, Dust2.us has learned. The move comes after Jason "neptune" Tran was spotted playing in the DreamHack Masters Spring open qualifier alongside Recon 5.

It is currently unknown  if any members of the team will be sticking together to hold the spot. Jake "kaboose" McDonald told Dust2.us that he in particular will be taking a break from CS:GO for the next two seasons to give VALORANT a chance. Skyler "Relyks" Weaver had previously released a statement in March that indicating that he was "mentally and emotionally exhausted" from team CS and was considering taking a break after the season, however, it is unknown if his plans have changed since.

Swole Identity formed back in February, following a merger between Braxton "swag" Pierce's Swole Patrol and ex-Singularity. In February, swag made the decision to retire from CS:GO, ultimately joining T1's VALORANT team. Following this, the team finished ESEA MDL Season 33 with coach Daniel "fRoD" Montaner as a stand-in.

Swole Identity's lineup was:

  • United States Jason "neptune" Tran
  • United States Jake "kaboose" McDonald
  • United States Sebastian "seb" Bucki
  • United States Skyler "Relyks" Weaver

With kaboose taking a break from the game and neptune seemingly set to join Recon 5, Sebastian "seb" Bucki and Relyks remain as the only two members of the team who could form a new lineup. Dust2.us has reached out to the duo for comment and have not heard back at the time of publication.
