vanity and co. are poised to create Chaos for his old eUnited teammates

Day two of the FLASHPOINT North America Closed Qualifier is in the books, seeing four teams exit empty handed, and two bow out with a small chunk of change for their trouble. Chaos and eUnited find themselves just one best-of-three series from a spot in the Global Qualifier, while Yeah, Orgless, Bad News Bears, and Swole Identity are all still navigating the lower bracket.

Jonathan "Jonji" Carey led the way for Bad News Bears on Nuke with 23 kills and Michael "Grim" Wince surpassed a 2.0 rating on Dust2. Every player on Bad News Bears had an even KD or better in a swift 2-0 series victory over Triumph.

Recon 5 got off to a really good start with nine T-sided rounds on Nuke, but failed to close the map in a thirty round affair that saw eUnited do one better on their T-side. Hunter "SicK" Mims continued his good stand-in form, contributing 30 kills and finishing just shy of a 2.0 rating on Vertigo.

It looked like Paytyn "Junior" Johnson and Asuna's Anime Aimers could have upset potential after taking their map pick with some room to spare. Alas, Victor "iDk" Torraca and Eduardo "dumau" Volkmer came online for the following two maps to reverse sweep the MDL side.

Swole Identity had Chaos on upset alert early thanks to Braxton "swag" Pierce and Jason "neptune" Tran combining for 46 kills and stole away Chaos' map pick of Nuke. Owen "smooya" Butterfield wasn't going to let  that happen, however, as the British import sported 1.79 rating on both Mirage and Dust2 to carry Chaos through with a reverse sweep.

Both Rugratz and AAA comfortably won their own map pick, and then it was Peter "Asuna" Mazuryk who led the way for his team in the decider to upset the more established MDL team of Rugratz.

The first two maps of this series were bloodbaths, with neither side surrendering more than four rounds to their opposition on their map pick. In contrast, Dust2 was a back-and-forth affair that saw Spencer "Hiko" Martin and co. closed out the first half with ten consecutive rounds. Unfortunately, they would only get three more before Riley "Reality" Fusch and Recon 5 took the map and series.

Triumph managed just two successful defenses on the CT-side of Train, allowing Orgless to close their CT-side at their leisure, with Gage "Infinite" Green garnering 27 kills. Map two was a much tighter affair, requiring all thirty rounds and a huge effort from Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker to get Orgless a 2-0 series sweep.

smooya led the way for Chaos on Nuke with 25 kills, but would see his Brazilian counterpart Rodrigo "RCF" Figueiredo best him with the AWP on Inferno. Anthony "vanity" Malaspina was more than happy to shoulder the load with Joshua "steel" Nissan on that second map however, with the two combining for over 50 kills to send Chaos to the qualifying match.

The first two maps in the series went as picked, with neither team finding ten rounds on their opponent's choice. Nuke, however, went down to the wire. eUnited started the map with two separate five round bursts on T-side to take control in the first half. Bad News Bears made a run at replicating the feat, but the defense held strong for Austin "Cooper-" Abadir and eUnited.
