Rap Gang reverse course and bring back Xeppaa

The classic -player +player North American gamer move has transpired once more.

Barely a week has passed since Peter "Asuna" Mazuryk parted ways with Recon 5 to join Rap Gang, but his time with the MDL side has already come to an end as the team have decided to bring back Erick "Xeppaa" Bach, who had been cut after trying out with at least two other teams.

The reversal is likely at least partially responsible for the team's forfeit in the  DreamHack Open Leipzig qualifier last night. When contacted by Dust2.us, a member of the team clarified that the move had nothing to do with Asuna himself, adding that he is "a talented player." It is not currently known if a return to Recon 5 is in the cards for Asuna, with the newly-promoted side seen participating in yesterday's qualifier with Chad "Oderus" Miller.

Rap Gang are once again:

  • Canada Justin "FaNg" Coakley
  • United States Erick "Xeppaa" Bach
  • United States Brendan "Bwills" Williams
  • United States Josh "shinobi" Abastado
  • United States Jeff "RZU" Ngo
  • United States Jared "MAC-1" Schneider (Coach)

Both Rap Gang and Recon 5 will have some extra time to practice and explore their options as the start of the MDL season has been delayed, as first reported by Dust2.us. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to compete in the upcoming DreamHack Open Anaheim qualifier that will run from January 17-18.
