Frag for First returns to California

EMUHLEET and N3rd Street Gamers to host Frag for First in Santa Ana

The event makes a return to Esports Arena for the second year running.

N3rd Street Gamers and Emmalee "EMUHLEET" Garrido have partnered up to bring another Frag for First event to Esports Arena in Santa Ana, offering eight teams a chance at a $1,500 prize pool.

The previous Frag for First event was also held in Santa Ana, with EMUHLEET's Entourage squad ending their tournament run in second place. Staying true to the name of the event, the winner of 2019's Frag for First will take home the entire $1,500 prize pool, as well as earn points towards the National Championship Series circuit as the tournament is an NCS Academy event.

Frag for First 2019 will feature two four-team groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the playoffs. The initial matchups will utilize best-of-ones, whereas the semifinals and grand finals will play out as best-of-threes. The one-day event is set to commence at 10 AM PDT on May 25th.

Santa Ana, California is the fifth city to play host to an NCS event, with the tournament circuit set to head to ten cities over the course of the year. The complete list of city stops are:

  • Boston, Massachusetts
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • Arlington, Virginia
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Kansas City, Missouri
  • Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Los Angeles, California
  • San Franciso, California
  • Denver, Colorado (Grand Finals)

Four teams are currently confirmed for the event, while an additional two await confirmation of their slots after registering. This leaves just two spots open for interested parties, with registration remaining open on the event's Smash.gg page.
