First ECS Season 7 Challenger Cup qualifier reaches quarterfinals
The first ECS Season 7 Challenger Cup qualifier has reached the quarterfinals, seeing the likes of MASSIVEimpact, Infamous, and The Quest earn spots in the round of eight. The eight teams will face off tomorrow for two spots in the upcoming Challenger Cup, set to kick off on March 5th.
Only 34 teams signed up for the first qualifier, with just five MDL teams making an appearance. Two of those teams were knocked out early in the round of 16 as Bad News Bears won their first matchup before forfeiting against Zone, while Win Scrims Not Matches were eliminated by a mix team under the tag Hentai Heroes.
Three MDL teams remain in the running however, with MASSIVEimpact, Infamous, and Final Feature all making it through to the quarterfinals. A few familiar faces from Advanced and Main also made it through, with Matthew "mCe" Elmore's The Quest, Zone, and Hysteria all progressing to join their MDL compatriots.
With just eight teams remaining, the quarterfinal matchups look as follows:

All four matches will take place at 3 PM EST tomorrow, with the semifinals playing out shortly afterward. Just two teams will advance to the ECS Season 7 Challenger Cup, with an additional three qualifiers rewarding two spots apiece.
