djay is on the hunt for a new team

djay no longer partying with ex-Excelerate

With the season at an end, the player is looking elsewhere for new opportunities.

Jonathan "djay" Dallal will not be a part of the ex-Excelerate roster in MDL Season 30, Dust2.us has learned. The team were recently released by the organization following a lackluster run in MDL Season 29, only narrowly avoiding relegation and finishing in 14th with a 7-12 record.

As previously reported by Dust2.us, ex-Excelerate originally intended to rebuild around Casey "SideStep" Hartzler and Michael "agM" Abood, leaving the fate of djay, Keanu "DaneJoris" Reyes, and Jimmy "Nurfed" McFadden unknown. However, it now appears that Nurfed will stick with the duo, while DaneJoris has been demoted to trial status.

DaneJoris was most recently spotted as a stand-in for iNTACT during their run in the third IEM Katowice open qualifier, where he helped the team 2-0 Steam Rollers in the semifinals for a spot in the closed qualifier. Nurfed most recently attended N3rd Street Gamers and Underwatch's Boston LAN alongside agM under Big Frames, finishing in third after a loss to Northeast Mayhem.

It is unknown where djay will go to next, however, the player has already created a recruitment ad on ESEA as he searches for a new team for the upcoming MDL season.

With djay's departure, ex-Excelerate's roster is currently:

  • United States Michael "agM" Abood
  • United States Casey "SideStep" Hartzler
  • United States Jimmy "Nurfed" McFadden
  • United States Keanu "DaneJoris" Reyes (trial)
