Ryu and Renegades were eliminated by "domestic" rivals TYLOO in London

Ryu leaves Renegades; alludes to further changes

Perhaps the first domino to fall after the team cut a frustrating figure in London.

Renegades coach Steve "Ryu" Rattacasa has announced that he will no longer be holding that position with the team.

The former Selfless coach linked up with the team and former player Noah "Nifty" Francis in late June, and attended ESL One Cologne, the Asia Minor, and the FACEIT London Major Main Qualifier with the squad.

Ryu went on to state that if he went deeper into the reasons for his departure, it would "reveal things that are currently in process" with the team/organization. One can assume he is referencing further changes that will occur before the start of the new season.

Additionally, the now free agent coach is "undecided as to what [his] pursuits will be", and also mentioned that he had previously had offers from Overwatch League teams.

Renegades roster (for now) is:

  • Australia Aaron "AZR" Ward
  • Australia Karlo "USTILO" Pivac
  • Australia Justin "jks" Savage
  • United States Noah "Nifty" Francis
  • Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad

The WESA transfer window closes September 27th, and ESL Pro League begins October 2nd, so expect the announcement of further changes in short order.
