Waves eGaming Opening Tournament moved to October 19th

The "opening tournament" will now play out three weeks after the venue's opening.

Waves eGaming has announced over social media that their $10,000 CS:GO opening tournament has been delayed, with the event now playing out from October 19th to the 21st. The event was originally set to start on September 28th as to coincide with the venue's opening to the public.

In the post, Waves eGaming also announced that registration will soon be open for the main event starting September 1st. Registration will be open until the 19th, which is when the tournament will kick off in Toronto, with at least 38 team slots available depending on whether teams from the qualifier do not confirm their attendance.

The fee for the event is currently set to be $50/participant during September, with the price raising to $75/participant in October. The top ten teams from the online qualifier are not required to pay the registration fee. Registration will soon be available on Wave eGaming's smash.gg tournament page

BlackOut claimed victory in Waves eGaming's online qualifier after beating Offbeat in the grand finals 2-0, with both teams winning $2,500 in travel support as well as $500 and $300 respectively. Along with the top two teams, Fam143, iNTACT, and Vision also notably placed in the top 10, making them eligible for free entry to the main event.
