The two European sides took battle on the stage in Boston

FaZe take down mousesports to continue Major run

The first game in the ELEAGUE Major: Boston playoffs saw FaZe fairly comfortably navigate their opponents.

The first playoff game in the ELEAGUE Major: Boston saw the two European mixtures face off, as mousesports were set to take on FaZe. The two teams were set to battle it out on Nuke, Cache and Train.

Nuke began with FaZe securing the pistol round and two anti-ecos on their CT-side, but any sort of push for a lead was immediately ended by mousesports for three of their own. FaZe secured the following round, thanks to three kills from Nikola "NiKo" Kovač but Robin "ropz" Kool took two swift kills from A-site Heaven to begin another set of rounds for his team.

With mousesports pulling ahead in the game, they secured four rounds in a row to extend the lead. With the final rounds getting traded one after another, the two European sides looked to make this an extremely close affair as mousesports went 9-6 ahead.

The second half saw FaZe take the pistol and anti-eco on their T-side as well, with mousesports then batting back by taking the first full buy. But it looked like it was FaZe's time to get back in the match, as they secured three rounds in a row to go back ahead. But mousesports were the first to touch match point, partially thanks to Miikka 'suNny' Kemppi making key contributions, including a 4k round.

But it was the Finn who was to betray them a win, as a mis-jump caused his suicide that narrowly prevented them from claiming the game in that round. From there FaZe secured the final two rounds they needed to cause overtime.

From there FaZe were too strong for mousesports, as although they managed to secure the first round they lost out on the following four for FaZe to take the first map 19-16.

Cache began with FaZe taking the pistol and anti-ecos on their T-side, which they followed up with the two following buy rounds. With FaZe looking strong, it was sunNy who cracked open the shell for his team with three kills for their first round. Although immediately answered back, mousesports secured four rounds afterwards to keep them in the game.

It was FaZe who immediately came back on top, however. With them remaining on-top throughout, they secured the final four rounds of the half with ease. Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer had come alive to help his team in the match, as FaZe went in 10-5 up at the half.

The second half saw mousesports take on the pistol round, where ropz secured four kills, and the two-anti ecos for a good T-side start. But FaZe were the team who came straight back into it, as NiKo was performing high against his former employers. This saw FaZe become extremely close to securing the match without much pressure from mousesports.

But mousesports did manage to secure one final round, but it wasn't enough. FaZe secured the final three rounds they required, including where Håvard "rain" Nygaard took a 4k to place them on match point. The final round had FaZe take it with ease, as they took the game 15-9.
