Report: timbermen star AWPer to miss RMR after theft
Dust2.us has learned that timbermen's star AWPer, Deni "dea" Ediev, will miss both the PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR and the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown due to his passport being stolen. To make matters worse, the Russian consulate informed dea that it could take up to three months for them to replace the document, leaving him completely unable to travel for the time being.
This, of course, could not come at a worse time for timbermen, as dea has been a key piece of their roster since joining the squad in December. With the Russian AWPer, timbermen have been lighting up the scene while claiming a number of key wins in the qualifiers to earn spots in the RMR and BLAST Showdown.
With this unfortunate series of events ruling out dea, Dust2.us has also confirmed that timbermen will be heading to the RMR with Adam "nbgee12" Zanzoul as he was registered as the team's substitute ahead of the Closed Qualifier. While nbgee12 is essentially an unofficial "sixth man" for timbermen, he is a far less experienced and pedigreed player compared to dea.
As for BLAST, the duty will likely fall to nbgee12 as well, with Tianyi "Fr3nk1e" He being another option, albeit unlikely due to having school commitments.
With this unfortunate news, timbermen will be heading to the RMR with:
-
Wyatt "snav" Phillippi
-
Derek "dare" Brown
-
Shane "shane" Dressler
-
Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell
-
Adam "nbgee12" Zanzoul (Stand-in)
-
David "FLUSH" Glockner (Coach)
The PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR is set to start on March 1st.
