Could steel be on camera more?

steel headlines NA talent at Katowice

He's back for the first time in... nine years.

ESL has announced their talent lineup for the upcoming IEM Katowice with one surprising inclusion. Joshua "steel" Nissan will be gracing the stage as a member of the on-camera broadcast in what is likely the biggest stage for his talent career.

Known for his cerebral knowledge of the game, the former iBUYPOWER, Ghost, and Chaos IGL has bounced between Counter-Strike and VALORANT in recent years. Most recently he was part of Bad News Bears, as the squad participated in the most recent season of ESL Challenger League.

steel also surprisingly announced that Valve was finally providing an end-date to his indefinite ban, allowing him to participate with Valve-sponsored events in the future, whether it be as a player or as an on-camera talent member.

This will not be steel's first appearance on camera having spent time with Beyond The Summit's cs_summit series as well as an Analyst as part of FACEIT's Esports Championship Series in 2017. However, this will be the first time he has appeared on camera as a member of talent at an event of this magnitude. Interestingly, this will also be steel's third Katowice event overall and first since 2015. He worked ESL Major Series One Katowice 2014 and ESL One: Katowice 2015 as an Observer.

Other notable North American talent heading to Poland to help deliver a premier broadcast program will be Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg as an analyst, Tres "stunna" Saranthus and Mike "DarfMike" Winnick as Desk/Sideline/Interviewers, and Jason "moses" O'Toole, Conner "Scrawny" Girvan, and Mohan "launders" Govindasamy as casters.
