roca and RIKO return to CS with CrouchShoot

roca has returned to headshotting and such in CS2.

A new roster has gone official in ESEA Advanced Season 48, marking the return of two veteran names from the NA scene — Daniel "roca" Gustaferri and Dylan "RIKO" Sabin-Arnce. This new lineup, called CrouchShoot, sees the pair back in action after lengthy periods of time away from the Counter-Strike scene, with the duo's last major teams dating back to 2020 and 2021, respectively.

For those who need a refresher or have never heard of the duo, roca is most known for his time with Echo Fox back in 2016, playing with the likes of Sean "sgares" Gares and Shahzeeb "ShahZaM" Khan. While the roster was largely unsuccessful, especially at the tier-one level, it is fondly remembered for forming during a boom period of heightened investments in CS:GO esports, with ELEAGUE and many non-endemic sponsors entering the space at the time. roca's career also saw him have stints at Complexity, Splyce, and Dignitas, along with a multitude of MDL teams before switching to VALORANT in 2020.

As for RIKO, while his career was less high-profile and largely at the tier-two level, highlights include periods with NRG, Denial, and the orgless Monstars squad. His most recent outing in CS:GO before retiring was with ChocoCheck in 2021, sticking around for a bit longer as a sub before retiring in 2022.

The other members of CrouchShoot are Advanced mainstays, with Zander "FIEND" Bates and Brandon "BRANTED" Ballard's careers dating back to 2018. This new roster traces its origins to an Open and Main team in 2023 called OldANDReallyBAD, however with the team making Advanced, roca says they intend to practice and take the competition seriously.

CrouchShoot consists of:

  • United States Daniel "roca" Gustaferri

  • United States Dylan "RIKO" Sabin-Arnce

  • United States Zander "FIEND" Bates

  • United States Brandon "BRANTED" Ballard

  • United States Jack "jack" Hughett
