Liquid heads to Monterrey!
Liquid have finally made their way to Mexico after taking down Party Astronauts in a close, 2-0 victory late this evening. The road to Monterrey was not so easy for the new-look Liquid team as they had one of the harder paths in the tournament thanks to their unranked status as a brand new squad. Facing Nouns, M80, Badass, and Party Astronauts, Liquid faced some of the better teams in this closed qualifier.
In the first matchup, Liquid saw themselves having to play Nouns, who are one of North America's best teams. It was a close 13-11 win for Liquid, but it was just the beginning. Against M80 it was a much different story as Liquid could not get anything going en-route to a 3-13 drubbing which almost saw Michael "Swisher" Schmid's team come through with a clean CT-side.
Now at 1-1 and licking their wounds, Liquid responded by finding a way to win against Badass 13-11 in order to get themselves to the qualification round.
Against Party Astronauts, Liquid looked like they were bringing it all together as they were able to secure their two best maps of the qualifier 13-10, 13-6. While Liquid are not looking like they are in prime form, the squad have been able to go against some of the better teams in North America and come through with a 3-1 qualification win.
