Former Cloud9 Coach m1cks announces return to CS

After a brief hiatus, m1cks has returned to CS2 with a passion.

On November 7th, former Cloud9 assistant coach and analyst Joshua "m1cks" Micks announced his return to the Counter-Strike scene, marking his return after a brief hiatus following his departure from Detonate in April 2023.

In a series of candid tweets about his return to esports, m1cks discussed his love of the NA scene motivating his return after battling mental health and substance abuse issues. Prior to his hiatus from the game, he notably helped lead Detonate to the BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR, before that team unfortunately had to pull out due to a number of unfortunate circumstances.

m1cks' career thus far is dotted with a number of interesting engagements including with Cloud9, Spacestation, Bravado, Nordavind, and Detonate. Additionally, he spent a number of months in VALORANT as an assistant coach for Cloud9 alongside James "JamezIRL" Macaulay, who has since also returned to Counter-Strike.

The return of another notable name to the NA scene with the release of Counter-Strike 2 is always great to see, and hopefully m1cks can contribute to the further redevelopment of the region in 2024.
