Riot Squad and Chaos headline teams alive on second day of DreamHack Open Anaheim qualifier

Just For Fun and Swole Patrol also remain in contention.

The first day of the qualifier for DreamHack Open Anaheim has concluded, seeing thirteen teams still remaining between the fifth and sixth rounds of play.

In the second round, South American squad InFinity were narrowly upset by "hardstuck main". "Getting Brian an HLTV page", a mixteam featuring Taylor "Drone" Johnson, Alex "aproto" Protopapas and Tyler "tweiss" Weiss, did not manage to achieve their goal.

In the fourth round, Big Frames flexed on RBG, Just for Fun took down Ramal "Rampage" Silva's mix, Saskatoon Warriors overpowered CLG Red, and Mythic defeated We The North, who had ended "Getting Brian an HLTV page"'s dreams earlier.

Only three matches of Round 5 were played last night, in which INTZ battered ETHEREAL, Just  for Fun narrowly put Rugratz down for naptime, and Ezekiel "KmZ" Hughes' Saskatoon Warriors shocked Monstars.

The next matches of the qualifier are as follows:

Round 5
United States Fraggin4Praze vs. Canada Oceanus
United States Triumph vs. United States Big Frames
United States Swole Patrol vs. United States Chaos
United States hardstuck main vs. United States New England Whalers
United States Riot Squad vs. United States Mythic
Round 6

United States Just For Fun vs. United States Triumph/Big Frames

The full bracket is available here.

It should be noted that Big Frames are using Divine's Robert "robby" Brown in place of new addition Khizar "MoMo" Rehman. Additionally, Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert has signed up for the qualifier with Swole Patrol, but did not play yesterday.

As a reminder, the top four teams will advance to the Closed Qualifier, where Complexity, eUnited, Gen.G, and Singularity await.
