Cloud9 cruised through the ECS regular season, but will have a tough time doing the same at LAN.

Groups for ECS Season 4 Finals revealed

The North American hopefuls are in for a rough ride.

FACEIT have revealed the composition of the groups for the ECS Season 4 Finals, which will be taking place in Cancun, Mexico from December 15-17.

The two groups are as follows:

Group A Group B
Sweden Fnatic United States Cloud9
OpTic FaZe
mousesports Liquid
Brazil Luminosity Denmark Astralis

Due to how the regular season standings ended up in both regions, Cloud9 and Liquid have the privilege of being joined in Group B by FaZe and Astralis. While it seems likely that Astralis will be without Nicolai "device" Reedtz due to his ongoing health issues, the European giants will still pose significant threats to the North American duo.

Liquid will at least be consoled by the fact that they will be able to use new addition Lucas "steel" Lopes at the event, something which has not been a given as they navigate a maze of different roster restrictions across several leagues and events.

The action in Mexico will heat up on December 15, as all eight involved teams will be looking to secure the early Christmas present of the event's $250,000 grand prize.
